iconDivorced spouses’ benefits

If the Foundation is required to transfer all or part of a member’s vested termination benefit under a divorce decree, the early-retirement account is used first, and then the retirement assets and the associated benefits are reduced accordingly. Any reimbursement will be credited in the first instance to the retirement assets.

All of the member’s accounts administered by the Foundation, including the minimum assets under the Occupational Pensions Act (BVG/LPP), are reduced in the same proportion.

Please contact us immediately in the event of a divorce.

Death of a divorced spouse

If a divorced spouse dies, the surviving divorcee is entitled to a pension payable to the deceased:

a. if the divorce decree entitled the survivor to a pension or to a single lump-sum payment in lieu of a lifelong pension, and

b. if the survivor was married to the deceased for at least 10 years.
