During these absences, you receive income-replacement allowance as an employee. During the period when your employer has a statutory duty to continue paying your wage or salary under Article 324a of the Swiss Code of Obligations (Bernese scale) or under Article 329f of the said Code (maternity leave) or if your allocations are subject to statutory welfare contributions, you continue to pay contributions. Once that period has passed, there are no more contributions to pay, although you do remain insured until you leave the Foundation on termination of your plan. If the illness or accident results in a disability recognized by the Federal Disability Insurance Fund, you and your employer are exempted from the obligation to pay contributions for the nine months before the date on which the Federal Disability Insurance Fund recognized the disability. From that time, the Foundation will fulfill the obligation, particularly by continuing to augment the savings account as though the contributions were still being paid.
